Australian firm Clough Ltd has scored a $70 million contract for a big gas project in Queensland.

Clough will undertake the front end engineering design (FEED) contract for Arrow Energy's Bowen CSG project in a joint venture with AMEC.

The FEED work will kick off the next phase of Arrow's gas development in central Queensland, beginning on October 6 this year.

It is part of Arrow Energy’s big ramping-up of the QLD CSG project, recently announcing plans to build a 580 km CSG pipeline from fields in the Bowen Basin to an LNG plant in Gladstone.

The company released an Environmental Impact Statement for the Arrow Bowen Pipeline last week.

Clough’s CEO Kevin Gallagher says it is a big win for local engineering.

“This important contract will extend our presence across the Queensland Coal Seam Gas sector and support the planned growth in our Engineering division, while providing an excellent opportunity to showcase the benefits of value focused Australian engineering,” he said.

“We will work closely with Arrow Energy and our long term strategic partner AMEC, to establish strong foundations for the successful delivery of the development in the longer term.”
