A settlement has been reached in grumblings between Qube Logistics and Wimmera Container Line (WCL).

The two reached a private settlement to stop their contract dispute costing more time and money in the Supreme Court.

The dispute was over Qube’s rail services for WCL, after it was contracted to move loads from Horsham to Melbourne for WCL in 2009.

Qube says it had a three-year agreement with WCL, which also covered the supply of road transport and container handling services.

Qube's lawyers argued that the deal ran smoothly from October 2009 to July 2011.In 2012, however, the court heard WCL tried to cancel the service.

But WCL's lawyers argue that there was no formal agreement between the two parties.

WCL says they were still sorting details such as the amount of wagons to use, services per week, pay rates for ad hoc weekend services and excess container protocols.

In the most recent development, the court announced the proceedings had been dismissed.

It is understood that a settlement was reached, but the details have not been disclosed.
