The CEO of Australia Post has called for an end to the constant politicking over the rollout of the National Broadband Network, saying it's a vital piece of infrastructure and must be allowed to go ahead.

In addressing the Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce, Ahmed Fahour, said that Australia Post stands to be one of the greatest beneficiaries and victims of the nation's broadband scheme, but its rollout is inevitable and must be embraced.

In his address to 300 of the nation's top executives, Mr Fahour talked about the rapid adoption of digital communication technologies and the far-reaching impact that these technologies and devices are having on customer behaviour and market dynamics. He particularly focused on how Australia Post is repositioning itself to seize the opportunities presented in the digital future.
