Two Victorian train executives have been sacked.

Metro Trains fleet manager Peter Bollas and former V/Line chief executive James Pinder collected multiple cash payments totalling thousands of dollars from the boss of the Transclean cleaning company.

They were both involved in securing highly lucrative cleaning contracts for Transclean in exchange for cash payments.

Mr Bollas confessed he had taken up to $150,000 in corrupt cash payments, and was revealed in recorded phone calls to be “covering up” both the arrangement and the cleaner’s mistakes.

Mr Pinder has denied any wrongdoing.

Metro Trains CEO Raymond O'Flaherty has announced he sacked Mr Bollas, while the V/Line board of directors has voted terminated the employment of Mr Pinder.

V/Line has also terminated its contract with Transclean.
