The New South Wales Government has announced that construction of all nine stops of the  $176 million Inner West Light Rail Extension has started.

Premier Barry O’Farrell toured the Dulwich Hill light rail construction earlier this week, saying that the light rail project is crucial for servicing the growing city.

“We are getting on with the job of building major public transport infrastructure projects in Sydney,” Mr O’Farrell said.

“It’s been five months since major construction started on the Inner West Light Rail Extension and work is now at its peak with construction underway at all nine new stops.

“The NSW Government has made a significant commitment to building new light rail infrastructure throughout Sydney and the Inner West Extension is the first part of what will be a modern, expansive light rail network.
