Sweeping reforms have been made to South Australia’s trucking regulations.

The SA Government has launched the Modern Transport System for Agriculture Report (PDF), after months of consultation with primary industries and the transport sector.

“We've brought PIRSA [Primary Industries and Regions SA] the Department of Transport, Primary Producers SA and the public of South Australia together and we've got some solutions,” State Agriculture Minister Leon Bignell told the ABC

“Some are really simple solutions that people have been crying out for for years that we can just change regulations to make it easier, not just for big transporters but also farm machinery, to move from one paddock to another.”

The plan covers a range of short and long-term red-tape reductions, some of which could be implanted in the coming months.
