2019 IWA Innovation Conference on Sustainable Wastewater Treatment and Resource Recovery

About the Conference

Tongji University, in collaboration with the International Water Association (IWA), are hosting the 2019 Innovation Conference on Sustainable Wastewater Treatment and Resource Recovery.

With the population growth and economic development, eutrophication has become a major problem in waterbodies around the world, and nutrient is a key factor resulting in this. Thus, nutrient removal has become one of the key challenges for wastewater treatment facilities. In addition to removal, nutrient recovery from wastewater is providing sustainable paths within a treatment plant. As the paradigm includes circular carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus approaches, new research and practice are needed to discover and to implement innovative technologies that make up such circular approaches.

The conference will be an international meeting point for scientists, engineers, managers, and entrepreneurs. It will provide an opportunity to review and assess innovation, research, engineering and management practices on nutrient removal and resource recovery for the past years, and inspire new generation of wastewater treatment process. Aiming at this, 2019 IWA Innovation Conference on Sustainable Wastewater Treatment and Resource Recovery will be held in Shanghai, China over 25-28 November 2019.
