About the role
Queensland Rail have an exciting new vacancy for an experienced Project Director to join our SEQ Integration team, this position will be based in Brisbane CBD.

As the Project Director, you will lead a team of 4 direct reports and oversee all aspects of our projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. This position will require you to travel occasionally, with the projects being based in Torbanlea (Maryborough region) and Brisbane.

The Queensland Train Manufacturing Program was created to build 65 new six-car passenger trains to support South East Queensland's population and economic growth, as well as Cross River Rail and the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include

  • Provide leadership, technical and professional guidance to design, planning and delivery teams within the project, including external agencies and delivery partners.
  • Manage the delivery of the Queensland Rail scope project in accordance with budgets, schedules, safety targets and project performance measures
  • Provide a high level of reporting to key stakeholders.
  • Ensure expected enterprise project management frameworks and governance arrangements are adhered to.
  • Lead and provide clear direction and development of the project to ensure delivery of results in highly complex and diverse brownfield environment.

About you

  • Previous experience managing and delivering complex major infrastructure projects and leading a team of project professionals.
  • Extensive knowledge of rail transport operations including legislation and organisational governance.
  • High level of skill in contract negotiation, management and reporting within various delivery models.
  • Demonstrative experience in influencing, communicating and consulting a diverse range of stakeholders.
