How will your ideas contribute to shaping what’s next?

As our new Part-time Engineer - Power Sector, you’ll be a vital part of the Queensland Energy team who are changing the way we design and deliver major works to support the energy transition.

Your role will include:

  • Undertake scoping, concept and feasibility level studies for a wide range of power projects, including power generation, wind and solar and energy storage
  • Manage, or be part of delivering large scale procurement processes including preparation of EPC/IPP type functional specifications, tender evaluations, negotiations, etc.
  • Support project implementation through a variety of roles that include detailed design, owner’s engineer, lenders engineer and O&M phase support.
  • Deeply understand our client’s most pressing challenges and exciting opportunities relating to the energy sector
  • Ask the right questions to frame a strategic approach to problem solving and value creation
  • Search for innovative ideas and concepts to further improve delivery processes for the business

Additionally, we are looking for the following experience and capabilities:  

  • Able to bring innovation to complex problems using your problem solving and analytical skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering

  • Be eligible to work in Australia

As we are looking for junior engineers too, the following favourable items are considered favourable to applicants.

  • Experience in the Australian Power Generation Industry, and 
  • An understanding of the power project development lifecycle including; development approval, environmental assessment, contracting strategies, procurement processes, commercial agreements, financing and implementation/construction of projects
