Powerlink Queensland, a progressive company responsible for Queensland’s electricity transmission network, is currently looking for your expertise in the provision of high quality protection designs and advice across critical High Voltage network design projects and activities we might have the opportunity you have been looking for.
To complement our current Protection Design team, based in Virginia we require your expertise to investigate the feasibility of and prepare preliminary protection design information; carry out detailed design, fault studies and setting calculations of protection systems for approved projects associated with the HV transmission system and ensure good quality designs and work output and the on time delivery of the protection systems.
This is a permanent, full- time role opportunity as part of a dedicated and professional Secondary Systems Design team which is in the Delivery and Technical Solutions division. Your contribution will be essential in the efficient and effective delivery of specialist protection design and advice. This includes input and assistance in the continuous improvement of protection systems and processes. Your overall drive and ambition is to provide a high level of protection design service and support as part of project and design matrix teams to internal customers and stakeholders with great attention to detail in your delivery as well as a proactive approach to communication and stakeholder liaison.

If you believe that you have the required experience and relevant Degree level Electrical Engineering qualifications in providing professional protection designs and advice to operational design and/ or project teams within medium to large technical organisations, ideally in critical high voltage network projects, we encourage you to submit your application now. You will need a detailed knowledge of protection systems and applications of EHV networks, high voltage substations circuitry and protection relay interfaces, together with a degree in Electrical Engineering and eligibility for corporate membership of IE Australia. Holding a Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) in a relevant field of expertise would be desirable.
