Arrow Energy is an integrated coal seam gas (CSG) company that explores and develops gas fields, produces and sells CSG and generates electricity.  

Arrow produces CSG from fields in the Surat Basin in southern Queensland and the Bowen Basin in central Queensland. We have been safely and sustainably developing CSG since 2000 and supplying it commercially since 2004.  

We own one of Queensland's largest power stations, Braemar 2 near Dalby, and we have interests in two others, giving us enough generation capacity to power around 800,000 homes. On 1 December 2017, Arrow agreed one of the largest gas supply deals on Australia’s east coast, to bring to market our significant gas reserves in the Surat Basin.

Reporting to the Principal Electrical Engineer you will provide technical design support as subject matter expert in electrical engineering matters during Concept, Define, Execute and subsequent Operation phases of the business.

The successful candidate will assure the electrical engineering aspects of Arrow Upstream surface facilities in the Surat and Bowen basins - encompassing wellheads, gas and water gathering systems, gas compression facilities, water transfer, water treatment systems, water management and power supply systems.


This will include but not be limited to:

• Concept Select, Feasibility Studies, BfD, Operation and Maintenance Philosophy support;
• New equipment technologies and applications review and assurance;
• Engineering design standards and specifications development and review;
• Assurance Peer reviews, Design Reviews, Value Assurance Reviews and Cross Discipline Reviews;
• Detailed design review including equipment and systems;
• Equipment control and safeguarding specifications;
• Construction and Installation Assurance;
• FAT and SAT Assurance;
• (Pre)Commissioning and start up;

 
To be successful in the role, you will have: 

• A Bachelor of Electrical Engineering is an essential requirement as well as current membership with Engineers Australia;
• Extensive experience in the engineering design arena with detailed knowledge of the Electrical and Instrumentation processes for gas compression plants, ideally within the CSG field;
• Proven knowledge in the HV network design and detailed understanding of Australian Standards;
• Extensive knowledge & experience in HV network design and a detailed understanding of Australian Standards relating to electrical networks & industrial plants & hazardous area applications;
• Previous experience in all phases of power and electrical projects is preferred;
• Experience with localised generation, power transmission and power distribution equipment would be highly regarded;
• Successful exposure to with project contracting and delivery strategies;
• A self starter, who is highly motivated, will ensure ongoing success in this role.
