Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer – Contract Role| Coal Seam Gas Industry

Arrow Energy is an integrated coal seam gas (CSG) company that explores and develops gas fields, produces and sells CSG and generates electricity.

Arrow produces CSG from fields in the Surat Basin in southern Queensland and the Bowen Basin in central Queensland. We have been safely and sustainably developing CSG since 2000 and supplying it commercially since 2004.

We own one of Queensland's largest power stations, Braemar 2 near Dalby, and we have interests in two others, giving us enough generation capacity to power around 800,000 homes. Arrow is owned by a joint venture company between Shell and PetroChina.

At Arrow, safety is our highest priority, and our values – lead, own, solve, integrate and respect – underpin everything we do.  To meet our growing demands, we are looking for an experienced Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer to join our team.

Reporting to the Principal Rotating Equipment Engineer, you will provide technical design and operational integrity advice as subject matter expert in rotating equipment matters during Concept, Define, Execute and Operation phases of the project. The role also ensures that all aspects of Arrow’s business constraints are appropriately translated into rotating equipment engineering concepts and are fed back into Arrows’ engineering specifications, if required.

In addition you will:
  • Ensure personal safety at work by adopting standard safe work practices and procedures in accordance with Arrow’s safety policies;
  • Integrate with and maintain relationships across the organisation, including multidisciplinary teams to ensure rotating equipment concepts are incorporated into standards;
  • Facilitate discipline technical assurance of consultant deliverables to ensure that they meet Arrows’ engineering specifications, whilst continuing to evaluate opportunities to create value by formally requesting deviations from and/or requesting modifications to the specifications;
  • Provide requested Rotating Equipment Engineering Support to the Operations group, including production and maintenance personnel;
  • Provide discipline support in rotating equipment during Concept, Define, Execute and Operation phases of the projects.
  • Provide leadership in rotating equipment engineering to contractors, consultants and Arrow staff to ensure timely delivery of upstream facilities solutions whilst ensuring expert input from the relevant disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Embed the evaluation of inherently safe design principles in all aspects of the upstream facilities rotating equipment and ensure that process safety risks are managed to ALARP (as low as reasonably practicable) levels.
To be successful in the role, you will have:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Corporate Membership of Engineers Australia or equivalent overseas organisation.
  • Eligible for registration with Board of Professional Engineers of Queensland (RPEQ).
  • Proven experience in the engineering and operation of large centrifugal, screw and reciprocating compression facilities, including preparation and review of design basis manuals, specification of compressors and related equipment.
  • Proven experience with managing rotating equipment tender evaluation.
  • Experience in the selection, design and operation of pumps.
  • Application of international standards for rotating equipment including local and statutory compliance requirements for operation of rotating equipment
  • Proven experience working in the Oil & Gas industry, preferably CSG.
In return for your efforts, Arrow Energy is offering an attractive remuneration package, commensurate with your qualifications and experience. All applications will be considered with utmost confidentiality.

One Arrow, One Team.

We embrace diversity and encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates.
