Project Engineer Civil/Building

Banyule City Council has an unique opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer Civil/ Building to plan, implement and supervise building and civil projects to ensure compliance with contracts, Council & industry standards and legislative requirements.

 

The Delivery and Asset Management Department is responsible for providing a range of services including developments and drainage, asset management policy, strategy and plans including the development of the capital works program. The Department is also responsible for the delivery of the capital works program including roads, buildings, footpaths, bridges, shared trails, drains, street furniture, line marking and the ongoing maintenance of Council’s Buildings.

 

About the role:

  • Liaise with all stakeholders in the identification of project scope including time, cost and quality restrictions
  • Plan and implement projects from inception to handover including the undertaking of all related procurement activities
  • Prepare specifications of work for minor projects
  • To review consultant deliverables and ensure that documentation is fit for purpose
  • Supervise contractors and administer allocated building construction and civil projects within budgets and timelines
  • Ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with plans, specifications and contract

 

You will have:

  • Degree or Diploma in Civil/Building Engineering or related fields
  • Proven experience working within capital works program development
  • Demonstrated experience in managing Civil/Building projects, contracts and budgets
  • Experience in leading project managers eg management of performance and development of staff
  • Skilled in the preparation and presentation of reports and submissions
  • Knowledge of OH&S, environmental, and traffic management requirements
  • Construction Industry white card & Licensed to drive vehicles up to 4.5 tonnes GCM (car license) essential
