ABOUT THE ROLE

In performing this role your primary responsibility will be the collection of litter/dumped rubbish including litter, deceased animals, and sharps throughout Moreland City Council. This may include sweeping of shopping/activity centres, residential streets and car parks, and footpaths. Sweeping involves both mechanical and manual work. 

There will also be litter bin collection, and pits and drains cleaning involved in your day to day activity. You will operate a range of plant and equipment where necessary to carry out required cleaning and report any defects of Council assets as well as identify any danger to the general-public such as fallen branches, pot holes, unsafe fences and broken pit lids whilst undertaking duties.

In committing to this position, you will be required to participate in regular overtime to service the needs of the Saturday morning and Sunday morning programs. Your roster may have varied start times from 3.30 am to 7.30 am.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE 

  • A current Victorian Drivers Licence, with Medium Rigid Licence Endorsement, (Mandatory)
  • Skills / experience operating various trucks and operating a range of small plant and equipment.
  • Customer Service experience and interpersonal skills
  • OHS Knowledge and experience working in manual lift environment
