Construction Supervisor

Written applications are invited for the position Construction Supervisor and will be received until 5 August 2016. The position is based in Isisford.


The Position

The Construction Supervisor will control the construction and maintenance of roads and drainage and related civil construction projects undertaken by Council Construction Crew, under the general direction from the Works Supervisor – Isisford.

The Construction supervisor will contribute to the efficient and productive operation of Council operations by ensuring duties are carried out in a safe and competent manner.


Qualifications and Experience

The successful applicant must hold a current ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence; Certificate III in Civil Construction/Maintenance or equivalent with demonstrated competencies gained through structured training/experience, as well as substantial experience in the Civil Engineering Industry with particular emphasis on project delivery by a direct labour workforce, supplemented by sub contractor resource. The successful applicant must also have a well developed ability to work in and successfully lead, supervise, develop and motivate team/s of staff to achieve project outcomes, good verbal, written and numeric skills; computer literacy with Microsoft Office suite of programs and software solutions specific to the teams’ core business including MapInfo, CIVICA, GPS survey system and the use of laser levels etc.


Salary and Conditions

The position is classified at Level 5 under the Local Government Officers Award and offers a nine day fortnight, 5 weeks annual leave per annum and a cash annual wage component (including allowances) of between $67,329.32 and $70,763.57.
