Water Specialist – Brisbane Corporate Office
Reporting to the Environment Manager, the Water Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing the water strategy across all operations at Anglo American Metallurgical Coal (Met Coal) and managing associated water-related projects. This will require the analysis of risks and opportunities at each operation/complex and the identification and application of industry-best practices. You will ensure Met Coal’s compliance against Anglo American Group Technical Standards (GTS) and government legislative requirements.
You will contribute to the continuous improvement of environmental performance at Met Coal by assisting with audits of the environmental management system and assisting in the implementation of improvement projects outside of the water specialty.
- Significant Environmental experience in Resources or Mining (preferably Coal) as it relates to water management;
- Experience developing and implementing solutions to complex environmental issues and facilitating continuous improvement in water management and operational performance.
- Experience in preparing Environmental Management Plans relating to water issues.
- Complex analysis of environmental monitoring data and reporting of findings.
- Participating in environmental audits and incident investigations.
- Communication and reporting of water related data.
- Experience devising water management strategies in the Resources sector
You will possess Tertiary Qualifications in Surface Water Engineering or Water Specialist discipline. Post-graduate qualifications with a Water Speciality would be considered favourably.
