With the recent expansion of our Brisbane based projects, we are seeking to appoint an Environmental Advisor to join our Utilities business on a significant capital works programme.
The role will see you working closely with senior management and project teams. The role will report to the HSEQ Manager and be supported by a well-established senior project team. You will be responsible for driving Environmental Management processes to provide the best possible outcomes for both our client and sub-contractors.
The role will be to pass on your industry experience onto others within the team and mentor upcoming staff over the 6 year contract lifecycle.
Responsibilities will include
Provide support and advice to the entire program of works in regards to the Environmental aspects including development of project plans and implementing procedures
Provides support and advice regarding relevant legislation and site permitting requirements
Provide support, advice and guidance to Management in relation to environmental concerns and issues.
Conduct environmental assessments, site visits and audits to assess environmental performance and opportunities for improvement
Ensure accurate records of environmental aspects are developed and maintained by the workplace
Reports incidents, non-conformances and near misses and participate in incident investigations when required
Undertake Environmental reporting as required (monthly reports, permit requirements etc)
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
You will be a methodical individual with a high attention for detail. You will be able to work both autonomously on our project, and as a solution’s focussed member of project delivery team.
You will need;
Demonstrated experience in a similar role ideally gained within Construction and or Utilities
Sound working knowledge and understanding of statutory environmental legislation
Tertiary qualifications in Environment / Degree
Ability to develop, nurture and maintain sound relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Well-developed planning, organisational and time management skills
Strong systems background.
