About The Role
Safety/Injury & Wellbeing Lead - Contract Opportunity
We are currently seeking to appoint an experienced Safety/Injury & Wellbeing Lead to be based in the Woolworths MRDC in Broadmeadows, Melbourne.
As the Safety Lead, your role exists to support DC line management with safety leadership and technical support in the continuous reduction of workplace injuries and to integrate practical and effective Safety initiatives to promote safe workplace behaviour. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to;
Delivery of timely, accurate, and quality assured safety performance data to business, including external benchmarking activities
To implement, maintain and improve policies, processes, Safety & Health programs, systems and tools to minimise risks and to achieve compliance.
Monitor and identify actions resulting from the incident management review process
To lead and support Operational Managers with positive strategies based on proactive analysis of information, leading and lagging indicators & culture survey results to promote a positive and resilient SH&E culture for team members, visitors, customers and contractors.
To manage and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring ongoing regulatory and legislative compliance. Applying sound judgement and decision-making based on facts and verifiable evidence, professional knowledge and practice.
Contribute to the Supply Chain SH&E governance program by conducting first line of defence audits and supporting close out of any non-conformities.
Manage and plan return to work related decisions including pre-paring proactive return to work plans
Manage the early intervention program including monitoring and supporting the team members recovery so that lodgement of claims can be made in a timely manner
Educate team members / contractors about the workplace rehabilitation policy and procedures and what to expect when an injury occurs

Together with demonstrated experience in a similar role, we are seeking the following skills and experience:

Experience working within a hands on Safety role
Formal qualifications in a related OH&S area
