We are looking for an experienced Work, Health & Safety Business Partner to join our dynamic Work, Health & Safety team based at our Head Office in Port Adelaide.

Role Overview

The Work Health & Safety Business Partner collaborates with the business to develop and implement health, safety and wellbeing initiatives in line with our strategic framework, best practice and legal requirements. They work closely with leaders and employees, offering coaching and support to ensure consistent safety and wellbeing practices and drive a strong safety culture. Additionally, they lead and contribute to group-wide strategic and operational projects, and provide support for early intervention and return to work programs for work-related injuries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely, professional and strategic guidance to all stakeholders on Health, Safety and Wellbeing matters;
  • Lead and contribute to organisational and business specific initiatives to support the delivery of the OneFPH Health, Safety and Wellbeing strategy; and
  • Provide leadership and support to leaders and employees to ensure understanding and adherence to WHS policies and procedures, risk management processes and conduct compliance assurance activities;
  • Coach and partner with Leaders and Employees in undertaking incident investigations and workplace audits, assisting in the development and actioning of corrective and preventative actions and continuous improvement.
  • Encourage organisational learning and application of a Fair and Just Culture;
  • Provide specialised WHS and RTW advice in both a corporate governance and operational setting;
  • Participate in reviews of the workplace to identify risks contributing to injury and opportunities for early intervention and recovery at work.

About you

Your skills and experience will include;

  • Minimum Cert IV in Workplace Health and Safety;
  • Mental Health First Aid certification desirable;
  • Demonstrated experience working in a high-risk environment;
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and communication skills;
  • Working knowledge of WHS legislation and knowledge of recovery & return to work objectives;
  • Strong planning and reporting skills and experience managing projects; and
  • Experience influencing and leading change.
