About the client

Government department tasked with making life easier, accessible, and equitable for thousands of individuals and families across Australia. Currently seeking nine (9) Procurement Officers to join their busy team for a 12-month temporary assignment.

About the role

As a Procurement Officer, you will provide level administrative support to the Procurement team, managing confidential and sensitive information. In addition, your key duties are as follows:

  • Provide procurement advice and support to the broader Agency.
  • Deliver support and advice in relation to compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs)
  • Assist with tracking value for money based outcomes and preparing reports against KPIs.
  • Prepare a range of procurement related documentation.
  • Draft correspondence and reports, including emails and letters.
  • Enter, extract and manipulate data to enable accurate Agency reporting.
  • Contributing to team and branch planning activities including identifying opportunities for improvements.

About you

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Understanding of procurement processes
  • Proven Federal, State, or Local Government experience
  • Previous experience using HR and/or Finance business systems
  • Intermediate understanding of the MS Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated experience managing high volume requests and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to remain composed in a changing, fast paced environment
  • Understanding or lived experience of disability is highly desirable
