Randstad Recruitment is seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to join a Regional Council in Victoria.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess applications for building permits (including advice on further information/details required and preparation of notices or reports as appropriate) so that buildings when completed will comply with the relevant Acts, Regulations and industry standards.
• Undertake inspections for the purpose of preparing reports or associated action under the Building Act and Building Regulations including essential services.
• Conduct assessments and prepare reports for consideration of the Municipal Building Surveyor.
• Inspect buildings (mandatory) to ensure construction of buildings or associated works are in accordance with approved plans/documentation.

Key Requirements:

• VBA registration as a Building Surveyor Unlimited/ Limited.
• Possess a certificate, post-graduate, diploma or degree in Building Surveying or other recognised and related course.
• Several years demonstrated experience acting as a qualified Building Surveyor in Local Government or the building industry.
• Experience and knowledge of all relevant legislation relating to the area of Building Control.
• A current valid driver’s licence.
