About the Project
The Metro Tunnel Project is being delivered in three work packages, with a program level team assisting each package. The three work packages are: Rail Systems Alliance, Rail Infrastructure Alliance, and the Tunnels and Stations Public Private Partnership. This role is within the: Rail Systems Alliance (RSA)


About the role:
In this 3-yr fixed term role you will be responsible for providing effective supervision of all Rail Safety and Track Protection matters associated with RSA.

You core responsibilities will include -
  • Supporting the Resource Booking process related to Occupation & Safeworking
  • Coordinating the day-to-day Safeworking/Track Protection requirements
  • Maintaining effective communication with worksite protection personnel, workgroup Supervisors, Signallers, Train Controllers, Track Vehicle Operators and Train Drivers
  • Conducting/Certifying a Rail Safety Worksite Hazard Assessment to determine the appropriate protection requirements for the worksite
  • Compiling Agreed Protection Plans associated with Absolute Occupations
  • Formulating, reviewing and where required, delivering Project Rail Safety Pre-Work Briefings
  • Work closely with the Rail Disruption Team and all other stakeholders to ensure that Occupations are planned, and executed in accordance with the Project requirements
  • Attend Planning & Occupation Co-ordination Meetings associated with both disruptive and non-disruptive Events
  • Ensuring that all worksite protection personnel have current certificates of competency and are in possession thereof
  • Assist in the management of an effective interface with the Track Protection team and other key stakeholders, both prior to and during planned Occupation events
  • Ensuring that appropriate supervision and adequate welfare/relief is available for all worksite protection personnel
  • Attend both disruptive and non-disruptive events, to ensure that worksite protection and associated personnel are placed into their correct positions and are conversant with their duties - ie of both a day/night shift orientation

About your experience: 
To be successful you will be required to demonstrate the following experience and capability:
  • Level 3 Track Force Protection Co-ordinator (3.2 as a minimum)
  • Relevant qualifications or Certificate IV in Rail Safety Investigation is desirable
  • Demonstrated knowledge of both the MTM Suburban and V/LINE Regional Rail Networks is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the MTM High Voltage Rules and experience working around Rail Electrical Assets is highly preferred
