Icon Water has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Development Inspector to join our Developer Services Team with the customer engagement group. The Senior Development Inspector is responsible for ensuring new water and sewer assets intended for handover to Icon Water are designed and constructed in according’s with Icon Water standards, ACT regulations, industry codes, Australian Standards and other statutory requirements.

In this role, you will:


• Undertake inspection and testing of construction activities during creation of new developer provided water supply and sewer assets intended for connection to the Icon Water networks.
• Review documentation submitted for new developer provided water supply and sewer assets.
• Lead and monitor Development Inspectors.
• Facilitate connection of the new assets by Network Maintenance Delivery.
• Respond to technical enquiries from contractors, consultants and suppliers.
• Manage major projects and complex issues as required, as well as carrying out design peer review for major projects.


What do I need to succeed in this role?


• Extensive experience in the civil engineering construction practices, in the construction, maintenance and repair of urban water supply and sewerage systems.
• Sound knowledge of Icon Water’s Water Supply and Sewerage Standards.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and basic understanding of hydraulics.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering (desirable).
• Familiarity with Water Services Association Australia (WSAA) Standards, Australian Conduit Condition Evaluation Manual and other applicable Australian Standards (desirable).
• Basic knowledge of ACT Public Works “Basic Specifications” and Transport Canberra and City Services (TCCS) Design Standards for Urban Infrastructure (desirable).
