The Defence Ships Division is seeking several highly professional, motivated, enthusiastic and experienced self-starters to support the Commonwealth Government's Naval Shipbuilding projects. Ships Division is one of the most dynamic organisations within Defence's Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group, offering the successful applicant a rewarding career and providing job satisfaction with challenge and diversity. Ships Division currently has a number of Acquisition projects, which the successful applicant may have an opportunity to work on, such as Future Frigates, Offshore Patrol Vessels, Replenishment ships, Pacific Patrol Boats and a number of Capability Upgrade Projects. 

Ships Division is seeking applicants with experience in contract management, project management and procurement planning for complex major capital acquisition projects. Acquisition managers will be part of designing, planning, gaining approval for, and delivery of, large procurement projects. These positions will be required to provide ongoing project management, contract management and configuration management related support to projects within the Division. Candidates for these roles should have experience in a project environment, be committed to personal and professional development, and be willing to provide technical (project management/commercial) guidance and advice within the Division.

APS 6 level staff within the Department of Defence are expected to coach and/or lead others. Your CV and (up to) 1000 word statement should make clear the projects and/or programs you have worked on and your role in their delivery. It will be important to demonstrate what experience, skills and qualities you will bring to the role. You will need to be a proven team player, demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have strong drive and commitment to achieving organizational goals.
