Organisational Development Specialist (12 months Fixed Term)

About Port of Brisbane

We’re so much more than ‘just a port’. From marine operations and security specialists to property managers, strategic developers and administrative experts, our team is truly diverse. Whatever your role, it’s likely no two days will be the same. The very nature of what we do means new challenges, new tasks and new projects are always on the horizon. As we innovate in a changing industry, we need people who get the job done and then help us do it better. Our best people do that every day.

You’ll join a company proud to be renowned for best practice in our industry. As Australia’s Port of the Year 2017, we continue to invest in innovation and growth to move PBPL and the maritime industry forward. Our continued success depends on the diverse skills, experiences and perspectives of our people. Join us and help us build a bright future for PBPL, for Queensland and for you.

We have achieved so much in our history, and have transitioned from a government-owned corporation to a private entity. We’re proud of who we are and how we work but like every organisation, there’s plenty still to do. As we strive for continuous improvement and innovation, we want people who have the drive to challenge and enhance our approach. But you also need staying power and the readiness to operate positively in a diverse organisation whose people and processes are always evolving.

About the role

You’ll join a small team in the midst of transformation, for a 12 month contract while our star HR Advisor takes maternity leave.  We’re excited about our new focus; supporting the Executive and broader Management team to enhance ‘employee experiences’ and ‘enable business performance.’ Joining us as an Organisational Development Specialist, you will positioned within a generalist People and Performance team, taking the reins to implement our organisational development strategy and internal communications program. This includes:

  • Implementing organisational development strategies to ensure PBPL has the appropriate environment and people to achieve its corporate strategies, objectives and vision.
  • Working closely with the Senior Manager People and Performance and the Executive team to enhance leadership and management capability across the company, investigating and implementing assessment tools, procedures, practices and developing activities to increase organisational effectiveness and support individuals to strive to reach their potential.
  • Driving a growth mindset across the organisation, partnering with the business to encourage individuals to identify, plan and prioritise their on-going growth requirements in a timely and business-focussed manner.
