The Helicopter Systems Division within CASG is the home of Pilot Training Systems and Aviation Commons specialists. We play a critical role in delivering Project and Programme Management expertise and solutions across the Capability lifecycle to help Defence achieve its objectives and maximise value for money. The responsibility of the Engineering Management Unit as part of Air Training and Aviation Commons System Program Office (ATACSPO) is to provide Engineering support and guidance to projects and products within the SPO. This includes providing technical governance and safety assurance of Aviation Commons materiel, liaison with Defence Aviation Safety Authority to deliver capability outcomes aligned with DASR requirements and supporting Aviation Projects.

  • Bachelor of Engineering from an Australian institution, or a qualification gained elsewhere, that satisfies the requirements of the Washington Accord for recognition as a Professional Engineer.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills with the ability to liaise with people from a range of disciplines and backgrounds.
  • The ability to collaborate with multi discipline teams in the development of work products.
  • The ability to establish and maintain constructive cross team communication.
  • Ability to manage a high work load with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise.
