About the National Radioactive Waste Management Facility (NRWMF) Taskforce

The National Radioactive Waste Management Facility (NRWMF) Taskforce works with the two nominated communities of Kimba and Hawker in South Australia through the process of land nomination, site acquisition and site selection for the siting of a NRWMF. The Taskforce has undertaken significant community engagement and education activities within the communities.

The Taskforce works closely with the Minister for Resources and Northern Australia to provide appropriate information to inform the Minister’s site selection considerations for the siting of a Facility.

Our ideal candidate
You will require a high level of professionalism, demonstrated judgement, excellent engagement and interpersonal skills and have an understanding of how small regional communities function and can contribute positively to a community’s welfare.

You are able to work with local communities and councils to assist them to identify their ongoing social and economic goals, and provide sound advice and guidance on what Commonwealth and State programs exist, in order to achieve those goals.

You have demonstrated experience in effective engagement and building relationships with local, State and Commonwealth agencies, such as Regional Development Australia in South Australia.

Eligibility
You will need to hold a current Australian driver’s licence.

To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, applicants must be Australian Citizens.

This position requires a Baseline security clearance. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.

Notes
This position will be offered until 31 December 2019, with the possibility of an extension.
