• Base salary of $92,127 to $122,129 per annum

The Indian Ocean Territories Administration (IOTA) is currently seeking a motivated, experienced and suitably qualified person to join our team as the Building and Works Supervisor within the Indian Ocean Territories Operations Service (IOTOS) on Christmas Island.

The IOTOS is responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of services and infrastructure across Christmas Island and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands in the interest of the Commonwealth. This includes Commonwealth owned properties and infrastructure, community services including distribution of licences and permits; justice; fleet; land management and contracts; and project management. 

The Building and Works Supervisor is primarily responsible for the management of planned and unplanned repairs and maintenance programs, approved capital projects for the business unit, the preparation of monthly budgeted reports and that the relevant standards of work are met and maintained by contractors and staff.

Our ideal applicant will have demonstrated knowledge of, and background in, property maintenance and repair experience in a similar role; good written communication skills, including experience in preparing business cases and contracts; previous experience in supervising employees; proven experience in budget management; and sound computer literacy skills.

Applicants who are able to read architectural drawings and have experience operating within a State or Federal Government environment, including utilising government financial management systems will be well regarded.

To be considered, applicants must be eligible to obtain a security clearance at Baseline Vetting Level (must be an Australian citizen), satisfy a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, hold a current drivers licence transferrable to the Indian Ocean Territories and be subject to a health assessment.
