Puch Construction & Building Pty Ltd is a leading construction company with a solid reputation in the marketplace, based in Sydney specializing in Government Defence Projects and Commercial Construction across a wide range of blue chip clients.

As a result of continuous growth and ongoing company developments we are seeking an experienced Work, Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Compliance Manager to join the team.

As the WHSEQ Compliance Manager you will work alongside the WHSE Manager and other project delivery management personnel in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of PCB's Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Management systems to:

Ensure compliance with statutory and contractual obligations, through:

  • Identification of improvement opportunities;
  • Recording of required improvements;
  • Liaise with WHSE Manager, GM, PM's and others in ensuring the improvements are assigned and carried through;

Maintain compliance records through company registers; meeting minutes; audit plans and reports; 

Maintain legislative library and register;

Ensure processes, procedures and records reflect current best practice;

Ensure processes, procedures and records continually meet requirements for AS/NZS 4801; OFSC; ABCC; ISO 14001; ISO 9001 and others;

Prepare and deliver internal company level audits;

Liaison with external auditing parties;

Prepare and present reports on internal audits and general compliance;

Identify and nominate opportunities for improvement;

Maintain compliance records at the company level;

Monitor and report upon company level progress towards its stated objectives & targets in the area of WHSEQ.

Skills and Experience:

3-5 years' experience as a WHSE / HSE / HSEQ Manager; Compliance Officer; or similar compliance-based tasking;

5 years' experience within the construction, property management or facility management industries;

Workplace Health and Safety qualification

Proven experience in conducting WHSEQ audits;

OFSC (Federal Accreditation) and ABCC compliance knowledge highly desirable;

AS / NZS 4801; ISO 14001; and ISO 9001 knowledge essential;

Ability to interpret and comprehend complex legislation and apply it objectively in practical review;

High level planning, teamwork, and communication skills

Experience working with government contracts;

Strong attention to detail;

Current and valid driver's licence;
