Recruitment and Talent Lead


We have an opportunity for a motivated and hands on talent specialist to join the Cement Australia team as our Recruitment and Talent Lead on a 12 month contract, reporting to the HR Systems and Learning Manager.

You will work collaboratively across our business to oversee and deliver recruitment and talent services with the support of one direct report. This will cover a broad range of roles from drivers and trades to senior leaders and professionals and includes both unique and volume recruitment. You will have strategic input into talent acquisition strategy and sourcing and design campaigns for hard to fill roles. You will also have ownership over your own portfolio, typically more senior or specialised positions and see these through the full recruitment life cycle.

You will manage the recruitment budget and external providers, work on continuous improvement projects and partner with key internal stakeholders to ensure candidates and leaders receive the best service possible. As part of the HR team, you will also gain broader exposure across areas such as internal talent management, remuneration and Graduate development. Your ability to quickly gain credibility with your stakeholders and adapt to the unique needs of each team and site will make a difference to your success. As our Recruitment and Talent Lead, you will:

  • Identify and source talent for key roles, owning the full recruitment life cycle for senior and specialised positions and overseeing the process for other roles
  • With support, oversee the planning and execution of volume campaigns for graduate and apprentice recruitment with a focus on sourcing approach and process design
  • Partner with the generalist HR team to support hiring leaders in the recruitment process, including developing or providing input to salary recommendations, identifying market risks and internal talent management/moves
  • Continually review and develop the talent acquisition strategy inclusive of recruiting marketing channel development, job board selection, digital and non-digital employment marketing
  • Identify future talent needs and proactively recruit and source, developing a talent pool for key roles within the business
  • Support management of the Cement Australia Graduate Program as it relates to the participants, their rotations and development activities
  • Regularly conduct data analytics and reporting to determine frequency and pipeline of roles, understand potential recruitment demands and provide general insights to business leaders
  • Oversee HR master data (org, position, person) and onboarding, ensuring effective flow of information between Payroll, HR and other key internal stakeholders
  • Build and manage professional relationships with external partners and providers, managing spend within budget
  • Lead and/or support projects that relate to recruitment, talent or employee experience whether specific to HR or cross-functional projects

Requirements

  • Demonstrated depth of experience recruiting across a wide range of roles up to senior leadership level, ideally in multiple organisations within mining, heavy industry or manufacturing. Bachelors degree preferred but not essential.
  • Experience in both unique and bulk recruitment preferred, in blue and white collar
  • Exceptional relationship building and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage differing business needs effectively
  • Proactive approach to recruitment, results driven and ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Solid technical skills (e.g. ATS management, Excel) and an understanding of HR systems - SAP HR experience a plus
  • Previous experience working with remote teams and operational sites a plus
