Senior Electrical Engineer

We are actively seeking a proactive and agile Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at Berrima Cement Works. Boral’s prized upstream cement business is an important supplier for our downstream businesses and external customers.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading the safe implementation of electrical and instrumentation maintenance plans, overseeing electrical projects and planned major shutdowns, and ensuring electrical safety and compliance of Berrima’s Electrical Engineering Control Plan. This is a key leadership position where you will be providing hands-on guidance and support to a large Electrical Trades team.
This opportunity is highly suitable for an experienced Electrical Engineer with strong knowledge of electrical standards and compliance requirements, and well-developed people management skills.
Your day will involve:
- Manage & provide support to the electrical department, ensuring the performance of electrical and instrumentation equipment meets safety, production, reliability & environmental targets
- Ensure the full and correct functionality of site electrical systems
- Carrying out a variety of electrical engineering tasks to ensure the ongoing safety and reliability of all electrical systems employed on the site, assisting with breakdowns and root cause analysis
- Develop, implement and manage; upgrades, improvements and capital works projects as required
- Hands-on coordination and supervision of electrical contractors to ensure high quality performance
- Actively mentoring and guiding the electrical team, ensuring development and performance is achieved
What are we looking for?
Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer within heavy industry
- Ability to diagnose problems and identify potential solutions by thinking outside of the box to deliver alternative outcomes
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical standards and compliance requirements
- Computer literacy and sound analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with all people, and to lead and influence
