About us

ActewAGL Distribution’s Contestable Business Unit has been providing electrical, metering and other regulated and unregulated services in the ACT and Capital Region since July 2018. As the competitive arm of the ActewAGL family, we provide innovative, multi-utility services including installation and maintenance of electrical services for ActewAGL’s electric vehicle charging and Internet of Things (IoT) sensor networks.

About the role

Working alongside your team, you will be responsible for undertaking all metering and related services, and get involved with investigating emerging energy practices.

You will install, inspect, test and maintain electricity meters, electric vehicle charging stations, IoT sensor devices, such as transformer substation power quality monitoring technologies, and communication infrastructure such as grid mesh networks.

What will you need:

  • A Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (endorsed for interval metering work with Access Canberra)
  • A current General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • Equivalent work experience in metering, construction or maintenance of network infrastructure
  • An outstanding attitude and willingness to work with a broad range of people across the business and our most importantly, our customers
  • A focus on safety, and making sure you get yourself and others home safely at the end of every single day
